A proper invite!

We've decided to do a Christmas party this year for a select few (19)
Namely wine lovers..and food lovers.
Thanks to facebook there is no need to make paper invites any more...we just create events (also thanks to facebook I rarely use the phone these days!) But this time I wanted to do something 'real'. So using Edwardian script we have printed out our invitations and stuck them on the back of Cath kidston postcards. I've had fun tying the envelopes with ribbons and adding stickers and pegs.




One of the plans for the party is to do a blind wine tasting game. Joseph will print out a score card for each bottle featured (the bottle label will be covered) and people get to guess things like ...the accents of the wine (oak, citrus, compost LOL!) for the real wine know it alls they will be asked to guess the grape and the region. Whoever gets the highest score over all will get a prize.
Apart from that there will be desert and appetizers..Good music and of course great company!

Doves

Another baby shower and another door hanger! Three doves to represent 'Peace'. It felt appropriate as this was Graces fourth baby and peace could be needed in with a house full of kids!

First Decoration Up!

I received our first Christmas card the other day. All the way from New Zealand! from Paisley Jade. Thanks so much for the couchette. It's up and the first of many decorations to come.

Birds, Love, Elephants

I had three baby showers in less than 10 days!! It's hard to know what to give someone when it's the second time round for them?
Here is a door hanging I made for a friends baby boy.
It's got all the things I'm into right now, bird, heart, elephant. There is no link between them apart from birds love sitting on elephants? Clutching at straws I know.

Finished

Well it's finally finished! Phew that was one of my more ling winded projects
but it was a lot of fun to do and really adds something to the room. I'm glad I used velvet because it has a regal feel to it and it almost looks like it should be an old flag.

Union update.

Here's the progress on the union jack.
Tonight I'm hoping to escape to the sewing shop to find a border fabric (possibly the same red velvet if they have it (wish I had bought it all when I found it) and some sew on applications!

Paint job

I found this candle holder the other day ($20 reduced from $70). I love it but it's black and there is nothing in our whole house that is black so like everything that passes over the threshold of our home it got painted white.
